For most major airlines, seats are automatically assigned at the time the request is made. You can view your seats by logging onto the airlines website using your Record Locator. However, not all flights are available for advanced seat assignment - these are deemed ”airport check-in only” so you won't be able to have your seats assigned until the day of departure.
